On September 19, 1969, Jewel and Patricia (Morris) Eubanks, welcomed a baby boy who they called Richard Martin in Columbia, Louisiana.
After graduating high school and attending some college, Richard joined the United States Army from 1992-1994. After the military he did work doing some school maintenance and worked for Barkman Honey. On August 12, 1999, Richard married Melissa (Green) in Quincy, Illinois.
Richard had three daughters, Kaylee, Alyshia, and Angeline. He loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He also loved to spend time with his friend and brother-in-law, John. He would take them all fishing at Herington Lake and Milford Lake.
On August 3, 2025, Richard passed away in Abilene, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Melissa of Lincolnville, KS; daughters, Kaylee Payne of Louisiana, Alyshia Eubanks of Lawrence, KS, Angeline Eubanks of Herington, KS and his six grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda Eubanks of Louisiana, Diana Eubanks of Louisiana, Carole Eubanks-McGirr of Louisiana, and Donna Miller of Kentucky. He had several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his parents and sister, Sandra. Richards family will be having a celebration of life on Saturday, August 16, 2024, from 2:00 - 4:00pm following with a Memorial service starting at 4:00 pm at Yazel-Megli funeral home in Herington, Kansas. Yazel-Megli funeral home will be serving the family. If you would like to make a Memorial donation in Richard’s name would be to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.
