Richard (Rick) Brent Evertsen, born on December 13, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, returned home on January 12, 2025, at his home, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication to family and community service. Rick and his beautiful wife Karyn met in the Summer of 1964, married in 1965 and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1992. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, known for his unwavering spirit and passion for helping others.

In his professional life, Rick made significant contributions as a salesman and realtor. His career was marked not only by professional accomplishments but also by the genuine relationships he built with his clients. Rick possessed a remarkable ability to connect with people, which stemmed from his genuine desire to assist them in their journeys.

Rick was deeply engaged in activities that enriched both his life and the lives of others. He was a long-term member of the Lions Club, where he exemplified his commitment to service. As a water conservationist and arborist, he advocated for the environment and dedicated many hours volunteering at Zions National Park. Additionally, he served as a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple, where his faith and devotion to his community were evident.

Nature held a special place in Rick's heart. He enjoyed landscaping, bird watching, ATVing, and hunting.  He was a skilled wood worker and enjoyed fixing anything before buying new.  He was a modern day MacGyver. He embraced life with a sense of adventure, often sharing these experiences with family and friends, creating lasting memories for all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Rick is survived by his beloved spouse and best friend, Karyn; his son, Shane Evertsen (Monica) ; his daughters, Annette Bradley Tanner (Len Tanner) and Nikki Wold; and a cherished family of 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way. He is also lovingly remembered by his twin sister, Mary Kilby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eleanor Evertsen; his siblings, Nancy Peixhot, Joe and Jean Evertsen, and Dave and Cherry Evertsen; and his grandson, David Wold.

A viewing for Rick will be held on January 19, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on January 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Memorial Murray Mortuary, located at 5850 S 900 E, Murray, Utah. A funeral service will follow at the same location on January 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM, concluding with interment at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery located at 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, Utah at 12:30 PM.

Rick will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his impactful presence in the lives of those he loved and served. His legacy of service, love of nature, and compassionate spirit will continue to inspire all who were touched by his life.

We would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Shauntelle from Pioneer Hospice. Dad's nurse Shauntelle, an angel who was a kindred spirit. We are grateful for her tender love and support she gave to Dad, Mom and all of us.  We will be forever thankful.
