Richard A. Ewing, had a 36 year relationship with his mule Fred and a 30-year relationship with his wife Val. He died on September 11, 2025 at his home. Richard was born on April 11, 1949 in Richland Center the son of Lonnie 'Jack' and Lenise 'Berthie' (Haines) Ewing. He graduated from high school in 1967. Richard was in the US Army serving in Vietnam from 1969 until 1971. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mule riding, and his grandchildren. Richard was united marriage to Val Rogers on December 13, 1996.

Richard is survived by his wife: Val of Viroqua;

Daughter: Stephanie (Steve) Waite of Johnson Creek;

Step-children: Edward (Megan) Mathein of Kenosha,

Jeremie Mathein of Wausau;

Many grandchildren;

Sister: Mary Ann (Mark) Cline of Lehi, Utah;

Aunt: Karen (Frank) Hartman of Duluth, Georgia;

Many other relatives and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Lenise.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A burial will be held at the Mill Creek Cemetery at a later date. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
