Neil Herbert Jorgensen Neil H. Jorgensen of Verona, WI, passed away surrounded by family on September 8, 2025, at the age of 86 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born the eldest child of Herbert and Doris (Witter) Jorgensen in Milwaukee, WI, on February 15, 1939. The family moved to Oconto Falls, WI, where he grew up on a dairy farm, and was very active in the Night Hawks 4H Club where he won many awards. After graduating from Oconto Falls High School in the class of 1957, Neil moved to Milwaukee and attended Milwaukee College majoring in accounting while working full time at O'Neil Duro Company before entering the Army in 1962 – 1964. Neil reentered the public sector when he went to work on September 4, 1965, with Alton Box Board Company in Milwaukee as an accounting clerk. Neil and Margaret raised their sons Mark (b. 1966) and Todd (b. 1969) in Milwaukee prior to moving to St Louis, MO, in 1976. Neil stayed with the company through several positions and name changes until his retirement as a Division Controller at Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation on January 1, 2000, after 35 years of service. Neil cherished time with his family as well as traveling to several destinations. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh, immaculately kept cars, and well-manicured lawns. Neil enjoyed striking up conversations with any person he encountered and was involved in the ministry of Jehovah's Witnesses.
