Richard Lee Fauth, 80 years of age, walked into the arms of his Savior on Friday, February 14, 2025 in Windsor, Colorado
Richard was born July 21, 1944 in Denver, CO to Otto and Lenora Fauth. He was the third of four children. He attended Colorado State College (now University of Northern Colorado) and received a Bachelor's Degree in Education. He met his wife Sharon the first week of college and they married September 10, 1966. After graduating, he attended Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island and was commissioned as an ensign. During his military career, Richard and Sharon were stationed overseas and in the US where their three children, Gale, Mark and David, were born. He received a second Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from the Naval PostGraduate School, Monterey, California in 1973.
Richard retired from the Navy with the rank of Commander in 1990, and then worked with various defense contractors, ultimately retiring from Raytheon in 2006.
Although his family, service to his nation as a sailor and a government contractor were important to him, Richard would always consider his faith and relationship to Jesus Christ as his defining characteristic. This devotion to his Savior was very evident to all who came in contact with him. What he wanted most in life was to be a true reflection of Christ's love, and to guide others to faith in Jesus by his example.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Sharon, and beloved sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his children, Gale Lynn (Christopher) Dupré, Richard Mark (Dora) Fauth and David Ward (Tami) Fauth, sister Judith Slaughter, brothers James Fauth and John (Jeanie) Fauth, and sister-in-law Danna (Jeff) Eldridge. His grandchildren, who brought him daily joys: Claire, Elliot (Grace) & expected daughter and Nathan (Angela) Dupré & daughter, Eleanor, Marissa (Dillon) Hansen & children Anaiah, Rowan & Josiah, Sonya Dywan & son Wilson, Richard Ethan (Madi) Fauth & daughter Eloise, Abigail (Joshua) Robinson & son Callahan, Katrina (Alfonso) Barajas Cervantes & daughter Adalia and expected child, Joelle, Rachel, Zach, Elijah and Maddie Fauth, from Africa, Dorcas and Bobo GomesCo and their children Maisha and Makena, and so many incredible nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to "The Navigators" (donations.navigators.org) or Adventures in Odyssey from Focus on the Family (1-800-232-6459, may be made in Richard's honor directly to Adventures in Odyssey).
