Richard "Dick" Louis Flory, formerly of Flushing, Michigan, died on Friday, August 15, 2025, at his home in Fountain Hills, Arizona. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 North Cherry Street, Flushing. Fr. Christan Salata will officiate. Family and friends are invited to a gathering following Mass. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Rossell Funeral Home, 307 East Main Street, with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m.
Dick was born in Caledonia Township, Michigan on March 2, 1933, the son of late Leo Flory and Ruth (Mahoney) Flory. Dick was a 1951 graduate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School. He was a proud US Army Korean War Veteran. He married Dorothy Mary Dell in Flint on October 4, 1958. Dick retired as Pipefitter from GM AC Spark Plug. He was a longtime volunteer of Flushing Senior Center, and a faithful member of St. Robert Catholic Church.
Dick enjoyed martial arts, eventually earning a black belt. He was a lifelong fan of Michigan sports teams. Dick enjoyed playing euchre and other card games, including Mahjongg and enjoyed traveling. He developed an affinity for putting in his retirement community.
Dick is survived by his sister, Elaine Novak; brother, Ronald Flory and his wife Elnora; children, Linda and husband Benjamin Kuhn, Alan and wife Kristen Flory, David and his wife Rachelle Flory; grandchildren, Sarah and husband Sean Fossgreen, Nathaniel and wife Madison Kuhn, Kegan Flory, Claire Flory, Drew Flory, Paige Flory, and Isaac Flory; great-grandchildren, Sierra and Savanna Fossgreen, and Bennett Kuhn. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Susan Flory; brother, Jerry Flory; and sister, Vivian Voegler.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested in memory of Richard "Dick" Flory to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
