Richard R. Gaboriault, age 75, of Horseheads, NY passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
Richard was born February 5, 1949, the son of the late Rene & Grace (Angel) Gaboriault. After graduating high school, he entered the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. He was employed in farming and as a machinist working last at Synthes in Horseheads, NY followed by the US Postal Service where he worked as a clerk in the Pine Valley Post Office.
He is survived by: his brothers - Chris & Louise Harvey of Erin, NY, and Jon & April Harvey and their daughters Anneliese and Isabella Harvey, all of Albuquerque, NM; sister-in-law Virginia Gaboriault of Cayuta, NY; nieces & nephews - Mike Gaboriault of Cayuta,NY, Karen Gaboriault Roorda & Clyde Thompson of Cayuta, NY, Heather Dufrain & Justin Kinney, and Dominick Faulisi, all of West Elmira, NY; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald Gaboriault, his sister Janice Dufrain, and his wife Jean Gaboriault.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service that will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Woodlawn National Cemetery, 1825 Davis Street, Elmira, NY where full Military Honors will be accorded. The Olthof Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
