In Loving Memory
Richard James Gleave Sr.
Richard James Gleave Sr passed away January 12, 2024 in Colville, Washington. He was born September 10, 1935 in Bowbells, North Dakota to the late Walter and Hazel (Titus) Gleave.
Richard loved his clan and was known as being very helpful and hardworking. Richard met the love of his life Carmen Turner in 1956 in Lodi, California where they began their 65 years of life together. They had five sons and one daughter. Richard spent many days and hours as a truck driver hauling logs for Arden Tree Farms. One of Richards passion was war horses. He was a member of the Arden Rodeo club and Ropers club. He loved riding in rodeos and participating in calf and team roping. Richard also enjoyed his trips to the casino with his wife Carmen. He was also known for being very social. Richard and a group of his friends would meet every morning for coffee at the Arden One Stop. His closest friends were Dave and Mickey. Richard loved his large family and loved gathering for family reunions. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. His great sense of humor and joking around will be greatly missed.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 65 years, Carmen Gleave.
He was survived by his five sons, Richard Gleave Jr (Tina) of Colville, WA, Burl Gleave (Amy) of Golden, CO, Carl Gleave (BobbieLee) of Colville, WA, Lorin Hamilton (Teresa) of Paonia, CO, Gerald "Jerry" Gleave (Vickie) of Colville, WA, one daughter, Kathy Armstrong (Roy) of Ellensburg, WA, sister-in-law, Jerri Church of Woodbridge, CA, Brothers, Dale, Larry and Gene Gleve and sisters, Linda Gallo and Bonnie Warner.
The family will be laying Richard to rest on May 17th at Mountain View Park Cemetery and would like to invite everyone for a gathering at Colville City Park around noon for a time of sharing memories of Richard.
