Richard Lynn "Dick" Good passed away on September 16, 2024, at the age of 84, after a brief battle with leukemia. Dick was born and raised in Wadsworth, Ohio, to Howard and Mabel Good. He graduated from Wadsworth High School where he was on the football, baseball, and track teams. He later studied at Stanford University and then graduated from Case Institute of Technology where he joined and later served as the president of Sigma Chi fraternity and where he met the love of his life, Daneen, to whom he was married for 62 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gary, and his nephew Bruce Good.
He is survived by his wife Daneen, their three children: Mike (Laura) Good of Louisville, Rich (Dawn) Good of Dahlonega, GA, and Debbie (Scott) Spanbauer of Neenah, WI. He was a cherished "Papa" to grandchildren Ashley (Harrison) Klein, Allison (Amanda) Oskin, Samantha and Lucie Spanbauer, Michael, Adrianna, and Evan Good and great grandson Brooks Klein. He will also be remembered lovingly by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He spent the first 15 years of his business career working with IBM which took him from Cleveland, Ohio, to New Jersey, back to Ohio and then to Nashville, Tennessee, where he held the position of Branch Manager. He then worked for Third National Bank in Nashville as the First Vice President. In 1985, he came to Louisville to become the Executive Vice President of NTS Corporation and later serving as President and Chief Operating Officer. He finished his career as the Co-founder and CEO of NetWorld Alliance. After retiring, he did work in the courts as a mediator.
He was a longtime member of Christ Church United Methodist where he loved teaching Sunday School lessons on church history. He also served on the Lincoln Heritage Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the boards of Wesley Manor and Junior Achievement. He became a staunch UofL fan starting in the Schnellenberger era and loved cheering on the Cardinals at basketball and football games. He loved singing, acting in community theater, flying single engine airplanes, entertaining, golfing with his buddies at Lake Forest Country Club, spending time with family, and traveling. He and Daneen eventually visited all 50 states and all 7 continents.
