Richard Goolsby, Jr. was born on October 16, 1955 to the late Richard Goolsby, Sr. and Hattie in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Richard was educated in the Philadelphia school system. He received his diploma from Simon Gratz High School. He furthered his education at Devry Tech and also attended Temple University. After finishing school he settled on a career as a Chef and worked several places including the Lincoln Financial Field.
At the age of sixteen, Richard had his first son Richard Quarles with Wanda Quarles. When he was eighteen he married his childhood sweetheart Annette and they had their son, Richard Goolsby III. Later in life Richard joined Beloved Saint John Evangelistic Church where he became an active member and met his second wife Cynthia with whom he enjoyed several years.
Richard enjoyed watching sports and having and attending family gatherings, but most of all he liked to debate politics and anything else.
In addition to his parents, Richard is also preceded in death by his sons: Richard Quarles and Richard Goolsby III.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, one brother, Reginald; one sister, Sharon; a brother-in-law, Tony; a sister-in-law, Christine; four nephews: Leonard, Shyheim, Davontae, and Darin; one niece, Shantaye; two grandchildren: Shaleia and Richard; two great grandchildren: Masai and Ameerah; his girlfriend, Alma whom he shared his last day with, as well as a host of more family and friends.
