I am so sorry that I missed Rick's visitation and funeral. I was so sad to hear about Rick's illness and passing. He had been a special friend of mine. I met Rick through the Crawford Co Democrats where he was Chairperson and I was soon to become his secretary. I went through a divorce during that time. He and some of his family helped me move to another location. He lent me one of his cars when parts to my car were unavailable. I joined him in our Democrat booth at festivals and fairs doing our best for the Democratic Party. He helped me learn about a lot of Crawford Co's past history and introduced me to many of the Democrats in the county. He helped me so many times in both large and small ways to get me through this time period. He was full of good advice which helped me so much. I was in the Harrison Co Hospital undergoing a minor procedure that my doctor would not allow me to cancel (I tried to cancel 3 times) when Rick and my aunt passed. My most favorite Aunt passed the same day as Rick. We were more like sisters than aunt and niece as we were only 5 years apart in age. As it happened, the only good news I got this week was that I passed my procedure at Harrison Co Hosp. and seem to be in good health at this time. I will always remember Rick as a good friend and a good Democrat that we should have ALL listened to!!!!! Prayers go to his family and friends who will miss him so much!!!!!!! I'm blessed to have known Rick and blessed to have had him as a friend.
