Richard Dale Key of Marengo, Indiana passed away surrounded by his family on August, 29, 2025, at the age of 67 at Rockcastle
Regional Hospital Respiratory Center in Mount Vernon, KY.

He was born on September 26, 1957 in Corydon, Indiana. Richard lived a life marked by dedication to his family, faith and community.
Richard was a loving husband for 28 years to his wife Brenda and devoted father to their daughter, Brianna. He was also a thoughtful son to
Donnie Key and Edith Key, and a caring brother to David Key and his wife Tina.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Donnie Key.

Richard was a 1975 graduate of the Paoli High School and earned a 2 year associate engineering degree from Purdue University in 1977. He was a retired Jasper Engines and Transmission employee.
Faith played a central role in Richard's life. As a dedicated member of Hillview Christian Church, he gave generously of his time and spirit. He taught a Sunday School class for many years, was a church usher and regularly helped with the delivery of meals to the senior housing residents- acts that reflected his constant desire to serve others. Whether through the church or everyday interactions, Richard was always willing to help and look for ways to lend a helping hand.
Richard found joy in simple pleasures and lifelong passions. He was an avid reader who loved fishing and puzzles. Richard was a loyal supporter to the Paoli Rams basketball and football teams. He rarely missed a Paoli basketball game or football game- cheering from the sideline with enthusiasm and pride.
Those who knew Richard will remember him for his quiet spirit,
generous heart, and unwavering commitment to those around him. His
legacy lives on through the lives he touched with kindness and
compassion.
Heaven is lucky to have him and so were we.
Visitation will be Friday, September 5, 2025 from 4 PM – 8PM at
Hillview Christian Church. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the service
time at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Hillview Christian
Church.
Bro. Paul Walerczak and Bro. Bruce Hawkins will officiate the
funeral.
Burial will be in Mathers Cemetery in English, IN.
