Richard Hanna, 70, of Northern Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 30, 1954, in Long Island, New York, Richard was the cherished son of Awad and Jasmine Hanna, whose roots trace back to Italy and Palestine. He grew up with his siblings, Rose and Johnny, and from a young age, displayed a natural gift for athletics, music, and connecting with people.

In 1977, Richard married his high school sweetheart, Ann, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, laughter, and resilience. Just four months after their wedding, they made their home in Northern Virginia, where Richard began his remarkable 45-year career at Savel Foods. A dedicated and award-winning sales professional, he was admired for his loyalty, work ethic, and genuine care for his customers and colleagues.

Above all, Richard's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted father to his three sons, Richie Jr., Nick, and Chris, and a doting grandfather to his five grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He was a guiding presence, a role model, and an exceptional dad whose love for his family was unmatched.

Richard was a true self-made man-handy, resourceful, and talented in countless ways. Whether on the baseball field, playing his piano, or lending a helping hand, he gave his all and inspired those around him. He touched countless lives with his warmth, generosity, and quiet strength.

Richard's legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply, the friendships he cherished, and the many lives he influenced throughout his journey. His memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know and love him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann; his sons Richie Jr., Nick, and Chris; his five grandchildren; his siblings Rose and Johnny; and so many other close family members who looked up to him and will continue to honor his memory.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna on Wednesday the 8th from 4PM to 8PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, on Thursday Oct. 9th at 11AM.
