Richard James "Herbie" Hartman, age 67, of Jamestown, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, February 23, 2025. He passed away at the Kettering Medical Center, his wife Karen was by his side. Herbie was born October 31, 1957, in Xenia, Ohio the son of the late Raymond and Irma Jean (Redman) Hartman. He was a member of the Shawnee Hills Baptist Church. Herbie was a 1976 Graduate of Greeneview High School, where he was involved with the F.F.A program. He was a lifelong farmer in the Jamestown area, having had livestock for many years, and farming several hundred acres. With his passion for agriculture and kids, he had served 15 years on the Green County Fair Board. He enjoyed traveling and camping, that allowed him to be close to his family, whom he loved dearly. Herbie is survived by his wife Karen (McNeely) Hartman; children, Reneé Hatert of Centerville, Craig (Bonnie) Hartman of South Charleton, Anthony (Melissa) McNeely of New Jersey, Michelle (Josh) Fais of Centerville, Cheryl (Devon) Bryan of Xenia, and Elizabeth Morrison of Jamestown; 15 grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister Janet (Bob) Fetters of Chillicothe; brother Michael (Marcia) Hartman of Jamestown; two nephews, Ryan (Deanna) Hartman of Georgia, and Josh Hartman of Springboro; several cousins and in-laws; many friends, he never met a stranger. In addition to his mother and father, Herbie is preceded in death by his step-father Lawrence Schafer. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church, 3490 Jasper Road, Jamestown, Ohio 45335. Pastor Adam McCune will officiate. Burial will follow in the Silver Creek Township New Cemetery, Jamestown. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial donations in his memory are directed to the Missions CARE Team at Shawnee Hill Baptist Church, 3490 Jasper Road, Jamestown, Ohio 45335. Powers-Kell Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences to Karen and family we didn´t know Richard very long but we have been blessed to get to know him and Karen he will be missed but we will see him again in Heaven
