Richard Leon Hengy, Jr., age 40, of Temple passed away at his residence on Friday, February 21, 2025. He was born in Grayling, MI on January 23, 1985, to Bobbie Jean Findley. She would move to the Temple area when he was 1 and married Donald Heugatter, who would help to raise him into a kind and loving son.
Richard would remain in Temple for his entire life. He was affiliated with the Multi Culture New Covenant Church. He was involved with sports and was dedicated to his health and fitness. He became a gamer through the years and had an affinity for the electronic arts.
His family was an important part of his life, and he always cherished his time together with them. The joy he had of spending time with family would always brighten his day and it was time treasured in his heart. Richard also was crazy about his dogs, Mia and Shadow and gave them all the love and attention that he could and like most pets they loved every moment of it. He was employed for 4 years at Walmart and had a good work ethic. His family, friends, and dogs will truly miss his presence and the generosity of his nature that he shared with all. The memories that were made will be carried with them forever. We can be reassured that he is at peace in the heavens above and will continue to look down upon us with love.
Richard leaves behind his mother, Bobbie Jean White of Harlingen and his dad, Don Heugatter of Temple. He has 3 sisters: Donnita Sauls of Temple, Donnette Wright of Temple, and Kelly Hengy of Little-River Academy. He was also the proud uncle of a niece, Miracle Shumpert and nephew Rodney Sauls both of Temple.
There will be a memorial service for Richard on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11 o'clock AM officiated by Pastor Rodney Sauls at the Hewett-Arney Funeral Home.
Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple has been entrusted with the care of all arrangements.
