In the loving memory of Richard E. Herb Jr. (87), we are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend on November 17, 2023, where he was surrounded by family after a brief illness.
Richard, known as Dick to those that knew him, was born in Amsterdam, NY but was a life-long resident of Fort Plain, NY. He served his country in the US Air Force - Strategic Air Command following high school before returning to the Mohawk Valley where he married Myrna Beck in 1963. He was employed at Central National Bank for over 25 yrs. before retiring in 1991. He was an active member in his local community serving on the volunteer FP Fire dept and Lions Club. He led a full and vibrant retirement socializing, traveling across the US and abroad while spending time with his friends & family. He was a talented athlete who enjoyed sports throughout his life particularly tennis and golf during his later years.
Dick is survived by his wife of 60 yrs. Myrna, three children, Rob (and wife Susan), Teresa (and husband Rick) and Michele (and husband Bill) and five grandsons (Chris, Mike, Ryan, Garrett & Brandon).
