Richard Hickman, 75, of Bridgeport, passed away at his residence on July 18, 2025. He was born April 29, 1950 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Richard Lee Hickman, Sr. and Alice Virginia Meadows Hickman.
Richard is survived by his wife of 43 years Christine Garrett Hickman who he married February 12, 1984.
He is also survived by five children, Lori Hickman of Bridgeport, Corey Hickman (Angie) of Buckhannon, Lindsay Adkins (Tim) of Fairmont, Jennifer Greenman (Martin) of Bridgeport, and Julie Van Norman of Mt. Clare; 12 grandchildren, Bryan, Drew, Paisley, Roman, Ashley, Katy, Haylee, Jarrett, Emma, Simon, Noah, and Jericho; three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Sue Lamb of Hepzibah and Dora Dodd of Clarksburg.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by three granddaughters, Bailey, Emily, and Lindsey; and his brother-in-law John Lamb II.
Richard graduated from Victory High School in 1968. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retiring as a recruiter. He also owned two businesses, Mountain State Construction and Renovations Plus.
Richard was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and greatly enjoyed boating and cars. He loved his dog Molly. Following his retirement, he greatly enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida with his wife.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 5 to 7 pm. A private interment will be held for the family.
