Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home for Richard Eric Hunter, age 64, of Gadsden, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 14, 2025. Pastor Brad Mullinax will officiate. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery, Centre, Alabama. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Herman and Myrtice Hunter; brothers: Gary, Roy, Jimmy, and Allen Hunter; sisters: Patricia Alford, Tina Gaskin, Linda Lou Hunter, and Nancy Carol Hunter.
Eric was a member of James Memorial Baptist Church. He loved Alabama football and wrestling. He attended Southside High School. He was a carpenter most of his life.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Sherry (Jimmy) Hutt and Dana Helms (Jeff Davis); brother: Tony (Pam) Hunter; sister-in-law: Adonna Hunter; a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Daegan Scott, Jeff Helms, Jason Morris, Josh Hunter, Jim Hunter, and Jeff Davis.
Honorary pallbearer is Nathan Scott.
Family will receive flowers or donations may be made to James Memorial Baptist Church.
Special thanks to Brother Pat Sherrill and the Sunday school class, Wendy Hester his next door neighbor, and Riverview Regional Medical Center CCU nurses and staff.
