Alvergis Gantt, Jr., Graduated From Southside High School Which Later Renamed Madison County High School. After Graduating Alvergis Gantt, Jr., Moved To Atlanta, Georgia, In The Early 1960's, And Started His Day Trade, As A Barber. From This Trade, Alvergis Gantt, Jr. Mastered Barbering And Opened A Barber Shop On Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, In Atlanta, Georgia. Alvergis Gantt, Jr. Night Trade Included His Fourth Degree Black Belt In Taekwondo As An Instructor In Mozley Park. Both Of Alvergis Gantt, Jr. Trades Gave Him The Knowledge And Life Skills To Start His Career As A General Contractor Until His Retirement.
Alvergis Gantt, Jr. Took On A New Title In 1961, As Home Owner. He Moved To 1916 Idlewood Dive, East Point, Georgia 30344. In This Home He And Widowed Wife: Lessie Omelia Jones Gantt, Entertained Family And Friend. Alvergis Gantt, Jr. Loved Playing Checkers, Riding His Motorcycle And Sharing His Love For Antique Cars.
Alvergis Gantt, Jr. Was Proceeded In Death By His Wife: Lessie Omelia Jones Gantt, Parents: Alvergis Gantt, Sr, And Elease Chappell Gantt, Brothers: Larence (LC)Gantt, Dennis Gantt, And Sisters: Heristene Conaway And Sarah Jefferson.
He Leaves To Cherish His Memory, Daughter: LaTonya Gantt, Son: Alvin Keith Gantt, Grand Children, Great Grand Children, Brothers: Eric (Claudia) Gantt, Leon (Brenda) Gantt, Sisters: Annis (Jim) Mayweather, Genell (Terry) Powers, Sister- In- Laws: Annie (William) Sewell, Pearl Gantt, Fannie Gantt Morris. A Host Of Nieces, Nephews, Family And Friends, And Special Friend: Pat Berry.
