Mr. Richard Charles Jones, 74 of Crossett, AR transitioned on July 9, 2024, at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a member of Westside Church of Christ, and a former employee of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Mary Dell Jones, parents Tyree and Earnestine Wilson-Jones, and brother Archie Jones (2020). Charles enjoyed spending time with family and sitting around the D&T Car wash laughing and talking with the fellows. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite football team was the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his favorite basketball team was the Golden State Warriors.
He is survived by one son, Antwain Jones and wife Stephanie of Grants, New Mexico, one daughter, Constance Davis and husband Roderick of Crossett, AR, one brother, Marvin Jones and wife Rosie of Crossett, AR, four sisters, Nancy Jones, Jacqueline Dawkins, Patricia Cox and husband Carl, all of Crossett, AR, and Shelia Benson and husband Stephen of Sherwood, AR, six grandchildren, Journey, Ethen, Amarrion, and Amurie Jones all of Phoenix, AZ, McKenzi Ridgell and Addison Davis both of Crossett, AR.
Funeral service will be Friday July 19, 2024,11:00 AM at Westside Church of Christ with Brother Kevin Ware officiating. Active Pallbearers are Christopher Washington, Chancie Williams III, Brandon Jones, Trace Jones, Stephen Benson, Jr., and Carl Cox, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are the Brothers of Westside Church of Christ. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell of Hamburg, AR.
Visitation will be Thursday July 18, 2024, 5:30-6:30 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc in Hamburg.
