Richard "Ricky" Harold Keith was born on Tuesday, December 2, 1952 in Ferriday, LA and passed away at his home on Thursday, October 16, 2025. He was a resident of Jonesville, LA. He served as an armored crewman in the US Army. After his military retirement, he began his civilian career as an offshore mechanic, where he worked until his retirement. Ricky was a devoted husband of 37 years to his beloved wife, Deedra. He was a loving father to Nikki, Rick, Cynthia, and Ted, a proud papaw to JP, Chase, Brett, Tate, Payton, Mia, Raegan, and Lainey, and a great-grandpa to Grayson.
Ricky was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Working 50 years in the oil industry, he took great pride in his work and served as a mentor for many young men. After retirement, he and Deedra developed a love for gardening. You could often find him on his tractor working in his yard and garden.
The oldest of 7 children, he was a loyal brother and a trusted friend to many. A doting and dedicated papaw, his love for his grandkids was immense. He and Deedra could always be found at one of the kid's many football, baseball, softball, or basketball games. Ricky lived a life of strength, courage and perseverance. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter and love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Franklin Keith and Gladys Staggs Keith, a sister, Sherry Gail Gray, two brothers, Robert Ray Keith and Kenneth Daryl Keith, and infant sister, Carolyn Sue Keith.
He is survived by wife, Deedra Keith of Jonesville, LA; daughter Nikki Walsworth and husband Brandon of Natchez, MS; son, Richard "Rick" Keith Jr. of Monterey, LA; daughter, Cynthia Hewitt and husband Jarrod of Monterey, LA; son, Ted Keith and wife Emily of Jonesville, LA; brother, Larry Keith of Ridgecrest, LA; sister, Debbie Rials and husband Tony of Rayville, LA; sister, Lisa Parker of Ferriday, LA; five grandsons, JP Hewitt and Taylor, Chase Pugh and Angel, Brett Walsworth, Tate Walsworth, and Payton Hewitt; three granddaughters, Mia Drane, Raegan Hewitt, and Lainey Keith; one great-grandchild, Grayson Hewitt and many nieces and nephews.
