Richard E. Kreisle, 78, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at his home in Tell City, IN.
He was born in Tell City, IN, on September 21, 1946, to the late William and Margaret (Heck) Kreisle.
Richard was a 1964 graduate of Tell City High School. After high school he joined the United States Marines as a radio operator attaining the rank of Corporal, with the First Marine Division from 1966 to 1969, during the Vietnam War. When he returned home, he went back to school, graduating from Indiana State University in 1972, with a degree in business. He worked with the Boilermakers Local 374 and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Richard enjoyed a good card game and often would win. He had an avid interest in genealogy, providing his family with wonderful old photos he'd located, records from various archives and historical societies and cemeteries he had visited. Richard had an excellent memory of the names, dates and stories of his ancestors. He enjoyed traveling and had visited all 50 states and took a solo trip to Europe. Richard enjoyed his Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Tigers and attended the 1968 World Series while home on leave from Vietnam.
Surviving are his siblings, Mary Kay Kreisle of Atlanta, Judith McGee (Dennis) of Bonne Terre, MO, Kristine Emmons (Bert) of Webster Groves, MO, Alice Kreisle of Cheverly, MD, and Susan Lasher of Newburgh, IN; sister-in-law, Carol Kreisle of Costa Mesa, CA; along with 15 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy, Stephen, and Timothy Kreisle.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00pm, Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00pm and Monday 9:00 to 10:00am at the funeral home.
Burial will be on Monday, after visitation, in St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Marine Artillery Association, c/o Ed Peterson, 392 Division St, South Amboy, NJ 08879. Richard really enjoyed attending their annual reunions and these donations help offset the future attendees' costs.
