“Richard Eugene Kretzer, Sr., passed away on August 6, 2025, in Williamsport, MD, at the age of 98.
Born on March 11, 1927, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Denver Kretzer and Ilda (Rummel) Kretzer. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Betty, and brother, Donald.
He was an entrepreneur who built his own heating and air conditioning business.
Richard was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy.Richard loved fishing and camping.
He was an active member of Otterbein Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 217, and the American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown, MD.
He is survived by loving wife, Patricia A. (Martin) Kretzer; children, Deborah Williams (Earl), Richard Kretzer, Jr., Thomas Barber (Letti), and Jill Bernhisel White, along with two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service in celebration of Richard's life will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.”
