Richard "Dick" Edward Kulas
Bay City, Michigan
Richard Edward Kulas was born to the late Edward and Sophia (Kosmicki) Kulas on January 31, 1941. He died on March 7, 2024 surrounded by his family at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 83. Richard was a self-employed painter, operating Kulas Painting and Decorating. His work was his passion, and he brought beauty to the world around him. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Czestochowa parish - St. Hyacinth Church.
Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet (MacDonald) Kulas; his daughters: Michelle Kulas, Renee Kulas and Denise Kulas Seelman. He has four grandchildren: Jacob and Danielle Seelman, Elizabeth and Aaron Garcia; great-granddaughters Eliana and Gianna who brought immense joy to his life; brothers: Edward Kulas Jr. and Eugene Kulas. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Lois MacDonald; and brother, Dr. Christopher Kulas.
The family would like to extend a thank you to McLaren Nurses on 5 West and 3 East for their exemplary compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the National Institute of Mental Health or Mental Health Initiative.
Honoring Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish - St. Hyacinth Church. A Bible presentation from the Knights of Columbus Council 414 will take place before Mass. Family and friends may gather for visitation at church from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass. A committal service will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Ambrose Funeral Home.
