Richard “Rick” Frank Lafferty Jr., age 72, a longtime resident of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Brandon Cochran officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Monday, from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rick was born in Buffalo, NY on May 26, 1953, to the late Margaret Lafferty and Richard Lafferty Sr. He served honorably in the US Army from 1971-1974. He then found his calling on the road, behind the wheel of a tractor trailer. He spent 47 years covering millions of miles, most prominently hauling automobiles. Rick was also a proud and passionate Teamster for much of his career and thereafter.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Cindy Lafferty, his sons Richard (Colleen) Lafferty III and Sean Lafferty, grandchildren Briley, Charlie and Reagan, sisters Susan (Joe) Smith, Colleen (David) Franz and Mary Lafferty and many loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in law, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his son Cody Lafferty and granddaughter Kaylee Lafferty.
