Richard Lee Langridge, age 49, of Hogansville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024. He was born on November 15, 1974 in Carrollton, Georgia, and was the son of Ernest Langridge and Hazel Ann Gore Langridge.
Richard worked in the Transportation Division of the Wal-Mart Corporation where he worked as a Dispatcher for twenty-five years. He was an avid outdoorsman and found great solace in nature. He also enjoyed the time he spent with his friends and family watching the Georgia Bulldogs play football. He was their number one fan! However, his most significant joy came from spending quality time with his close-knit family and cherished friends. His warm smile and genuine presence will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory loving wife Crystal DeVane Langridge; children, Sarah & Connor Reid, Olivia Madaris & John Rhodes, and Lucas Madaris; parents, Ernest & Hazel Langridge; brother & sister-in-law, Matthew & Becca Langridge; niece and nephews, Matilda Langridge, Matthias Langridge and Macabee Langridge; his constant companion, Echo; along with numerous relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Richard's life on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Brown and Reverend John Powers officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitesburg with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Travis DeVane, Justin Hughie, Chad Bloodworth, Mike Hilliard, Ken Jones, and James Allen "Brother from Another Mother".
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 12 PM until the funeral hour.
The family requests that those in attendance please dress casual and wear your University of Georgia Bulldog apparel.
