Richard Libensperger Obituary

YARDVILLE Richard A. Libensperger, 86, of Yardville, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Trenton, he has been a lifelong area resident. Richard was a proud Air Force Veteran having served in France during the Korean War. He was retired from General Motors after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Yardville, he was the Vice Commander of the American Legion Post 93, a member of the Yardville First Aid Squad, the Capitol City Rod & Gun Club, the Capitol City Yacht Club, the Lambertville Yacht Club, and the Hamilton Elks Lodge No. 2262. He was very active in Band Parents Association at Hamilton High School West. Richard loved to tinker with things, and took great care of the sign at the Memorial Baptist Church. He was an avid camper and enjoyed traveling in his truck camper. He also loved to water ski and would frequently water ski from the Capitol City Yacht Club to Florence Island. Son of the late Warren and Augusta (Dill) Libensperger, brother of the late Robert Libensperger, and son-in-law of the late Harold and Laura Lockett, he is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Saundra (Lockett) Libensperger of Yardville, his children Diane L. Gabriel of Bordentown, and Richard Scott Libensperger of Port St. Lucie, Florida, two grandsons Richard Libensperger II, and Derek Gabriel, his great-granddaughter Zelda, his siblings Warren Libensperger of Hamilton, and Jean Tocazuski of Wellsboro, PA, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 11:00am at the Memorial Baptist Church 17 Highland Ave. Trenton, NJ 08620. Reverend April Van Ness will officiate. Entombment will be in Colonial Memorial Park Cemetery 3039 South Broad Street Hamilton. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad Street Hamilton, NJ 08610. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Memorial Baptist Church 17 Highland Ave. Trenton, NJ 08620. Condolences for the family can be left at www.knottscolonialfuneralhome.com. Rich and I would talk about places up around Orwiggsburg Pa. and family he had up there. I will miss Rich he always made me smile when I came to church and he was sitting in his seat in the last row. Rest in the arms of our loving Lord.
