Darley M. McAuley, 99, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at United Zion Retirement Community.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Darley was the daughter of the late Ingeborg (Jorgensen) and Johan Herman Matthisen. She was the beloved wife of the late Leon Henry McAuley, with whom she shared more than 60 years of devoted marriage.
Darley was a 1945 graduate of Hamilton High School West. Throughout her working years, she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper for several companies.
Darley and Leon greatly enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe and cherished time spent cruising the Caribbean. Some of her most treasured memories were made during family vacations at the New Jersey beaches, surrounded by those she loved most.
She is survived by her daughters: Nancy Lefever, wife of Jeff, of Lititz; Eileen Bloom, wife of Keith, of Montoursville, PA; and Sandra Diamond, wife of Howard, of Jackson, NJ. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Nicole Carrasco (Edwin), Patrick Bloom (Krystal), Meredith Lefever Wanyo (Christopher), Matthew Diamond (Lindsey), and Stacey Fisher (Clint), and a loving great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. Darley is also survived by her sister, June Matthisen Hartman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Matthisen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church or Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 301 Saint Thomas Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. A visitation will be held from 10AM to 11AM. Interment will take place at 11AM on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Morrisville Cemetery, Morrisville, PA.
