Richard E. Matice, 65, of Cornwallville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on February 11, 2024. He was born on October 4, 1958, to Richard E Matice & Carol Fayer (Ruger) in Wareham, Massachusetts, and resided most of his life in Cornwallville, NY.
He also spent a few years in Oswego, NY.
He was a truck driver for 20 years, he worked for Jaro Transportation Company for the last 10 years. He enjoyed traveling all over the country. He was hard working, dedicated and kind hearted. He loved the outdoors. His true passion was right by the water with a fishing pole, where he spent many hours with his son. He loved telling jokes and had a great sense of humor, his laughter could fill the room.
Richard is survived by his loving children, Megan (Frank) Matice and Matthew (Leanne) Matice; his adored grandchildren, Kourtney Matice, Kylie Matice and Frankie Carrillo; mother, Carol Ruger; ex-wife, Cindy Matice; siblings, Brian (Amiee) Ruger, Julia (Robert) Mattick, Gerald (Pam) Barrett, Jeness (Richard) Raffa, and Danielle Matice, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Matice and sister Debra Carney.
A Celebration of life will follow at a later date to be announced.
Donations can be made to the American Heart Association in Richard's name.
