Betty Jean King, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on November 13, 2025. Born on November 16, 1932, in Overton County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Clyde and Gertrude (Speck) Miller. Betty was married to her late husband, Bethel King, for over 60 wonderful years, sharing countless memories along the way.
Betty had an infectious spirit and was a dedicated community member, serving as the past President of the Madison County Lady's Shrine Club and Lady Elks. She cherished her time playing cards with a close group of friends affectionately known as "The Six Pack."
Betty is survived by her son, Gregory (Bobette) King; grandchildren, Virginia "Jenny" King and Gregory (Abby) King, II, and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bethel, her parents; son, Gary King; brother, A.J. Miller; sisters, Colleen Alexander and Cola Dean Bilbrey.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 1:00 p.m. at Bozell Funeral Homes - Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana. Burial services will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery after the funeral.
