Richard Lee Maxey was born on December 2, 1947 in Oklahoma City to Laverne and Juanita Maxey. He passed away April 10, 2025 at the age of 77 at his home in Yukon, OK. Richard was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, and a friend to many. He graduated from Yukon high school in 1965. He then served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war. Once he was honorably discharged, he returned home to Yukon, OK where he entered into the electrical trade. He spent most of his life in the construction industry. From being an electrical contractor, home builder, to general contractor for commercial buildings. He was always working on his next big deal; the man was full of ideas. He is preceded in death by his father Laverne Richard Maxey; mother Juanita Rae Maxey; wife Shirley Ann Maxey, and son Christopher Richard Maxey. He is survived by his daughter Torie Lee Soulek of Edmond OK; son Trey Brandon Maxey of Yukon OK; two step-sons Dane and wife Keri Meyer, and Mike and wife Donna Meyer both from Yukon OK; eleven grandchildren, Harleigh Rae Maxey of Wellston OK, Lauren Taylor Maxey of Tuttle OK, Jake Lawson Soulek of Edmond OK, Cooper Trey Maxey of Yukon OK, Tyler and wife Kimberly Meyer of Yukon OK, Bradyn and wife Haley Meyer of Yukon OK, Gabrielle and husband Wyatt Jordan of Yukon OK, and Kaylee Ann Meyer of Yukon OK, and eight great grandchildren all of Yukon. Viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
