He was a Vietnam Veteran and served the United States Army in his younger years. He was a hardworking individual and worked in the Trade Show Industry in the later years.
Richard or Rick as he was fondly known, will always be remembered for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor. Rick will be remembered for his kind heart always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Rick was a proud member of all Fraternal groups, American Legion Post 28, Marine Corp League, Moose Lodge #2165, VFW and a life member of Fingerhut! These groups were a life choice of his and where he made many lifelong friendships along the way and volunteered whenever he could. It was a brotherhood to him. We will also honor Rick in mentioning his own beloved club the "Pig Pen" where you were always welcomed and all shared many laughs, great food, and refreshing cold beverages.
Rick could often be found indulging in his hobbies which included cutting grass with precision and perfecting landscape at his home. Sitting on the front porch or in front yard for that neighborly wave sipping on unsweet tea and of course watching the grass grow. Listening to country music or enjoying his passion for Bluegrass. Soliciting the local clubs laughing and picking tickets, or just cuddled up with his beloved dog Sissy on the couch watching the Redskins.
Although Rick may no longer with us, his memory lives on through his family. He will be dearly missed, but we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace free from illness, and probably tending to the most immaculate landscape in heaven!
Pop-Pop, we will always carry your memory in our hearts.Love you Always!
A Celebration of Life will be held and announced at a later time as family grieves and works out details with out of state family.
