Tony Joseph DeSisto passed away on July 18th, 2025, in the presence of his loved ones.

Born in San Diego, California, on June 6, 1981, to Maria Chaves and Donald Joseph DeSisto,

Tony spent his young life in California and Virginia, earning a Bachelor of Arts from Virginia

Tech/George Mason. Before his illness, he enjoyed nature photography and traveled to Asia,

Latin America, and extensively across Europe, often with his father accompanying him.

Anyone who knew Tony knew that he loved traveling, reading, New York City, discussing

politics, science fiction, and finding excellent off-beat spots to eat. His parents and brother were

his priority, and they remained very close until the end.

Tony is survived by a large, loving family: his parents: Maria Chaves and Don DeSisto; his

brother, Israel Palencia (Virginia); aunts and uncles: Emilce and Terry Kerrigan, Louis Desisto

and Phyllis DiGiacomo; grandmother, Carol DeSisto; cousins: William Kerrigan (Rae) and Terrie

Marie Rodridguez (David); nephews and nieces: Israel Palencia, Kai Palencia, Theresa

McKenzie and countless other friends and family. Tony was predeceased by his abuelita,

Rafaela Zoraida Marenco and his grandfather, Louis DeSisto.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at John Hopkins Hospital for their

attentiveness and care during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to an organization that

specializes in helping families needing funding for transplants:
