Richard N. Michael gained his wings April 17, 2025 at Scioto Rehabilitation and Care Center at the age of 92.

Richard N. Michael was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 21, 1932 to the late Charles Michael Sr. and Pauline Michael.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife (Juanita Michael), Daughter (Victoria Michael), Stepson (Wayne Kelso), Brothers (Charles Jr. & David Michael), Sister (Barbara Cass), Grandson (Juan Tye), Nephew (Steven Michael), Cousin (Edwin Johnson), Sister-n-law (Lorene Michael), Niece (Lori Michael), and Brother-n-law (Sonny Williams).

Richard Nelson Michael (aka Dickie, Mike, and Hoss), graduated from East High School class of 1950-1951 and entered the U.S. Army and honorably served his country for the next four years. He retired from Columbus City Schools as Head of Maintenance, as a Master Plumber. Richard got married to his beautiful wife Juanita Kelso May 2, 1970. He spent the next 5 years enjoying life with his wife until her passing on September 29, 1975. He never took his wedding band off and continuously cherished her love in memory until the day he passed.

Richard loved his family and friends. He faithfully attended East High alumni breakfast at Golden Corral every 3rd week each month. He enjoyed playing bid whiz and going to casinos and traveling all over the world with his best friend Russell Early. He also was a part of the Mt. Vernon Avenue "Friends from the Hood" organization, who also travels all over the country.

Survived by Daughter, Margo Tye, Stepdaughter, Myrna Kelso, Brothers, Earnest Michael, Ali (Gail) Michael); Sister, Charlene Robinson; Sister-in-law, Mary Williams; Grandchildren, Micquel Michael, Dexter Tye, Ericka Michael, Sheree Tye; 18 Great Grandchildren, 22 GG Grandchildren; Niece, Jackie Cass; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and Special Friends.
