Richard Thomas “Tom” Moorhouse II., 59, of Cleveland and formerly of Benton, departed this life on November 22, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on November 16, 1964, in Athens, Tennessee, to the late Vance Moorhouse and Clara Nell Chastain Moorhouse.
Throughout life, Tom was an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy books, among other genres. He enjoyed listening to music and watching movies. Tom had an off-beat sense of humor and was a self-proclaimed “couch potato”.
The family would like to invite anyone with a favorite story about Tom, to share it during the service.
In addition to his parents, Vance Moorhouse and Clara Nell Chastain Moorhouse Bandy, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Kenneth Bandy.
Left to cherish the many memories include his siblings, Becky (Kenneth) Mirabella, and Vance (Janet) Moorhouse; nieces and nephews, Vanessa Boley, Nichole Rogers, Nathan Mirabella, Tyler Moorhouse, Bethany Triplett, and Guy Triplett; lifelong best friend, Calvin Rogers. Several cousins and a host of friends also survive.
A Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with his friends and family sharing memories.
Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
As Tom was having heart issues prior to his passing, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association at, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
