Obituary published on Legacy.com by Freeman Funeral Homes - Manalapan on Mar. 8, 2025.
Richard Myhren, 72, of Manalapan, NJ, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday March 7, 2025, at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold, New Jersey. Rick was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and resided in Northern New Jersey for several decades prior to settling in Manalapan in 2015.
Prior to retirement, he worked as a Manager Post Office Operations for the United States Postal Service in different areas in New Jersey and Delaware, retiring in 2011 after 42 years of service. Rick loved to watch football, spend countless hours by the pool and in his spare time he could often be found cooking, enjoying a fine bottle of wine and entertaining family and friends at home. Rick lived a fulfilling life as a son, father, brother, husband and friend. He loved living life to the fullest, loved traveling, motorcycles, listening to music, cooking, grilling and spending time with his family. Rick was a devoted father who loved his family deeply, Rick was a kind, caring, thoughtful loving person, and a great friend, who always was there for you no matter what, he was an extremely friendly person who would make you feel like family instantly. His smile, kind demeanor and fun personality will be missed by all.
Rick leaves his legacy as a role model for what we can each achieve through kindness and consideration for the value of all people.
Rick was predeceased by his parents Harold and Marian Myhren. He is survived by his loving wife Linda Myhren; former wife Dale Myhren; daughter Aimee Fein (Michael); son David Myhren; daughter Katlyn; sister Carol Babcock (Steve); grandchildren Julian, Grayson and Holden Fein; brother in law Armando; sisters in law Amparo and Lucinda and many nieces, nephews and several special friends and neighbors that we consider like family.
