Richard P. "Rick" Neuhauser, 71, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, following a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Richard L. and Ruth M. (Hergenrother) Neuhauser.
Rick was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School, class of 1973. His working career was as a press operator for Electron Energy Corporation, retiring in 2019. Rick enjoyed attending Barnstormers games and he loved gardening. He also enjoyed having many cats as pets over the years and he cared for many outside cats in his neighborhood.
Rick was the last of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Hodgen. He is survived by Mary Lou's family who affectionately called him "Uncle Spiff": niece Valerie Stewart and husband Dale, of Lancaster, and their son, Jason, and niece Melanie Petrosky and husband Michael, of Lancaster, and their children, Jake, Isaac, Adam, Zoey, and Zach. He is also survived by several close cousins who regularly gathered together for fellowship.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, at Faith United Church of Christ, 1204 Wabank Road, Lancaster, PA 17603, with a time to visit with the family at the church from 10 AM – 11 AM. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service. Interment will be private.
