Richard C. Olivar, 73, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 8, 2023. He is the beloved husband of Dana (Dunbar) Olivar with whom he shared 34 years of marriage. He was born on July 12, 1949 to the late George and Lillian (Mahoney) Olivar of Boston, MA.
Rick was a kind and generous soul who loved nothing more than making people happy. He was renowned for his culinary skills and loved to entertain for family and friends. Rick had a natural talent for making people feel comfortable and welcomed everyone with open arms. He enjoyed taking his golden retriever named Fetchy, to Einstein Bagels for his special treats.
In addition to his love of cooking and entertaining, Rick had a deep passion for his family. Rick's love and dedication to his family were evident in everything he did. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met. His infectious smile and warm personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Along with his wife Dana, Rick is survived by his children, Garret Olivar and his significant other Jenna Gosselin of Chicago, IL, Derick Olivar and his wife Carolyn of Lynn, MA, Darlene Olivar of Tewksbury, MA, Tina Olivar of Salem, NH, and Jason Olivar and his wife Kathryn of Everett, MA; his grandchildren, Derick Olivar, Keegan Olivar, and Mckenna Olivar; siblings, Janice Dunn and Gloria Lendhart; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, Sonny Olivar and Robert Olivar.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 11th at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Litchfield, NH. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
