Richard Ortiz Obituary

Richard Ortiz, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and curiosity that touched everyone who knew him. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Richard spent his early years in Manhattan before settling in Katy, Texas, in 2008.

A proud graduate of Murray Bergtraum High School in New York and Devry University in Chicago, where he earned a degree in Information Technology Science, Richard's lifelong passion for learning shaped both his career and his relationships. He was known for his love of technology-always tinkering with DIY projects, fixing gadgets, and exploring new ideas in quantum science and space. He even dreamed of one day traveling to space and the moon.

Richard married the love of his life, Denise, on September 27, 1996, in White Plains, New York. Together they built a life full of laughter, music, and adventure. Richard's pride and joy was their daughter, Camerin, who he spoke about with boundless admiration and love-she was, as he often said, "the apple of his eye."

A man of many interests, Richard found joy in cycling through his community on his e-bike or e-scooter, playing racquetball with friends during his New York days, and indulging in sushi or Mediterranean meals. He loved stage magic, Latin, soul and R&B music, and was always ready with a song, a joke, or one of his signature witty remarks. His friends and family will fondly remember the unmistakable New York lilt in the way he said "coffee."

Richard was a compassionate and generous soul-wise, intuitive, and deeply empathetic. As a training instructor for H.A.K., he was dedicated to teaching others not just skills, but self-awareness and safety, especially for his realtors in the field. He approached each day striving to be the best version of himself, inspiring those around him to do the same.

He is survived by his loving wife Denise, cherished daughter Camerin, dear sister Hadee Belos, nieces Erica and Emily, and nephews Peter and Rolando. He is preceded in death by his parents Juan Ramon and Josefina, his sister Margie, and his brother Juan Ramon, affectionately known as "Popote."

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the generosity, love, and support shown during this time-it means more than words can express.

Richard's memory will live on in every life he touched, every laugh he shared, and every moment of wonder he inspired.
