Richard Jason Parker

Richard Jason Parker, affectionately known by all as Jay, left this world for his eternal home on February 7, 2024. Born in Jackson, Mississippi on August 17, 1973, Jay's cheerful spirit and kind heart shaped the lives of those around him for 50 remarkable years. An embodiment of warmth and friendliness, he passed away in the peaceful surroundings of Calhoun, Louisiana.
Jay was greeted on the other side by his beloved family members who had gone before him: his mother, Lynda Cook, and his doting grandparents, Bob and Meta Shoemaker. He leaves behind a loving family: his father, Ricky Parker; devoted sister, Jamie Franks, and her husband, Greg; his cherished niece, Alyssa Franks, and nephew, Conner Franks; his adoring fiancée, Sarah Batres; his treasured children, Jema Parker, Jade Morgan Lloyd, and Jase Parker; and his darling granddaughter, Snow Lloyd. Their lives, along with those of numerous other family members and friends, were brightened and enriched by his presence.
Jay's passion for the great outdoors was evident through his love for hunting deer and ducks, fishing, and skillful woodworking. He relished in sharing his love of cooking on the grill, creating joyous memories by infusing warmth and love into every meal he prepared for his loved ones.
Remembered for his handy craftsmanship, Jay was loving above all else.
Jay's absence leaves a void that echoes with laughter, the aroma of barbecue, and the unmistakable mark of his loyal, friendly nature. A devoted father, a caring brother, and a friend to all, Jay's legacy will be carried forward in the hearts of those he loved.
Services for Jay will be held in Mississippi at a later date.
