Rev. Richard A. Pearce

Rev. Richard A. Pearce, 72, of Herrin, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025 at his home in Herrin surrounded by his loving family. It is beyond all doubt that he entered his Father's Kingdom shouting praises of glory, dancing and singing. All who knew him knew he loved the Lord and was a walking testimony.
Rev. Pearce was a minister for Calvary Church in Mt. Vernon, IL and Landmark Church in Anna. He also worked as a social worker for S.I.H. Herrin Hospital for several years.
Through his last several years of sickness, his grandchildren remained the light of his life.
Rev. Pearce was born May 16, 1953 in Herrin, IL to Harold E. "Shine" & Jessie R. (Reames) Pearce.
Rev. Pearce married Rhonda K. Wyatt on July 24, 1978 in West Frankfort, IL. She survives him at their home in Herrin.
He is also survived by his children and spouses, Leah Pearce of Herrin, Tyler & Becky Pearce of Olmsted, IL, and Cassie & Mike Yates of Jonesboro, IL; grandson, Brycen Yates and granddaughter, Charlee Pearce; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cherrill Price of St. Charles, MO, Sue & Johnnie Shirley of Herrin, Patty & Randy Elliott of St. Charles, and Janie Pearce of Hendersonville, TN; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Matthew Price.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2025 at the West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the church. Interment will be at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses; envelopes will be available at the church.
