Richard (Dick) Podskalny formerly of Woodbridge, New Jersey died on September 3, 2024, in Sykesville, Maryland at the age of 88-years-old. He was born on July 14, 1936 in Bayonne New Jersey. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Soon (Lee) Podskalny; his daughter, Karen Violand; son, Dr. David Podskalny; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Dick worked as a piping designer and retired from Merck Pharmaceutical, in Rahway, New Jersey. He was a veteran of the Army, where he served as a Military Policeman in Korea.
Lee and Dick owned and operated LuvLee Brides, bridal shop in Colonia, New Jersey for 12 years before retiring to South Carolina. Dick lived with his wife Lee outside of Irmo, South Carolina for 10 years where they both served on the homeowner's association's landscape committee. They relocated to Sykesville, Maryland in 2011 to be closer to family. Dick enjoyed nature and animals, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dick is preceded in death by his sisters Helen, and Dorothy and his four brothers. A celebration of life service for Dick will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, between 11 AM and 1 PM, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home.
