Richard Henry Price Sr., a retired foreman for the Town of Thompson Highway Dept., passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at his home in Monticello surrounded by his family. He was 69.
The son of the late Irwin Price and Viola Beardsley Price, he was born November 24, 1955 in Albany.
Rich was a founding member of the Squirrel's Den Hunting Club. In addition, he was a long-standing member of the Southwoods Motocross Club. Rich was a proud family man and especially fond of his two pugs, TishTot and Milo. His favorite days were spent with family: riding four wheelers with his grandkids, watching football, playing the guitar, and talking around the campfire.
He is survived by his wife: Tammy A. Porter Price, at home; two sons: Richard H. Price Jr. (Megan Becker), and Daniel Price (Alyssa Centeno); a daughter: Carolyn Rojas (Michael); six grandchildren: Kiya, Elliana, Oscar, Kellen, Zachary and Ryan; three brothers: David Price (Gayle), Gary Price (Regina) and Wayne Price; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Ellen; and two sisters: Sharon Titus and Donna Roberts.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Messenger Cemetery, Southwoods in Monticello.
