Richard Lee Ramsey, age 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Burlington, Kansas, on October 10, 2025.

He was born on October 19, 1954, in Wyandotte County, Kansas, to Lloyd Ellis Ramsey and Margarette Louise Reynolds.

Richard had been a part of COF since 1983. Over the years, he lived in Osage, Ottawa, and Burlington, where he made many wonderful friends who became like family.

Richard enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including shopping, outings, crafts, and bowling. He loved cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and proudly participated in The Special Olympics, where he earned numerous medals. Richard also enjoyed volunteering his time, especially during the holidays, helping make Santa bags for the City of Lebo for Santa to hand out to children at Christmas. In his younger years, he loved working on model cars.

During the years that he worked, Richard was employed at the sheltered workshop in Burlington. He worked on the Charloma contract, where he helped bag and boxed AC hoods produced at the Charloma plant then brought them to the Burlington Workshop to be processed and shipped. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed the friendship of his peers and coworkers.

Richard will be remembered for his cheerful spirit and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by his COF family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services for Richard will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 20, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
