Karen Ann Massingill, 46, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Chase County Care & Rehab in Cottonwood Falls, KS.

She was born December 20, 1978, at Iola, KS, the daughter of Nelson LeRoy Spillman and Glenda "Sharlene" Comstock-Bell.

She spent most of her life in Burlington and had been employed by Quest Services as a home health caregiver for 13 years. She enjoyed camping and being outdoors and was an excellent baker, especially known for her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls.

On February 14, 2007, she and Hoyt Massingill were married at Burlington. They became the parents of three children.

She leaves her husband, Hoyt; her children, Alexis Brooks and Malachi Massingill of Burlington and Benjamin Massingill of Topeka; a step-daughter, Jayni Massingill; 5 grandchildren, Skye, Rebel, Rylee, Jaedyn, Ozzalyn, and one on the way; her parents, Nelson Spillman of Ottawa, KS, and Sharlene Comstock-Bell of Ripley, MS; a sister, April Carrasco, Cadet, MO; a brother, Daniel Spillman, Gridley, KS; many other relatives and friends.

Cremation is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to Jones Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
