Mickey Massingill

Mr. George Mickey Massingill, age 73, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 5, 2025. He was born August 11, 1951 in Austell, GA to the late Guy D. Massingill and Mildred Vernell Massingill. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Duria Lee Causey Massingill; daughter, Candy Kirk; granddaughter, Ashley Kirk; sister and brother in law, Janice and Michael Hayes; and brothers and sisters in law, Larry and Jo Ellen Massingill, Tony and Violet Massingill, and Jimmy Massingill.

Mickey loved to fish and watch drag racing. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh, especially his family, whom he loved dearly.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Brenda Pitts, of Tallapoosa; daughter and son in law, Cindy and Josh Rainwater, of Dallas, GA; son and daughter in law, Mark and Susan Pitts, of Tallapoosa; grandchildren, Allie Rainwater, Candice Rainwater; Logan Brown, Dakota Pitts (Julie), Justin Pitts (Christian), and Brandon Pitts (Kelli); great grandchildren, Shaylee Pitts and Malakai Pitts; and sister and brother in law, Terri and Jeff Hitchcock, of Dallas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 12:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Steve Galloway and Bro. Wayne Reddish officiating. A eulogy will be given by Justin Pitts. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Dakota Pitts, Justin Pitts, and Mickey Simpson. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, GA.

The family will receive friends in the chapel Thursday beginning at 11:00AM.
