It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Richard Lawrence Rauckhorst Jr., who departed this life peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the age of 92.
Richard was born on April 8, 1933 in Akron to the late Richard and Margaret Rauckhorst. He was a loving husband to the late Patricia, his cherished wife of 56 years. Richard was also a devoted father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. After spending 35 years in West Virginia, Richard returned to Ohio, settling in Medina.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia, his parents, Richard and Margaret, and his granddaughter Margaret Bennett. He is survived by his children, Richard (Teresa) Rauckhorst III, Patricia (Tim) Bryson, Mary Anne (Kevin) Thomas, John (Miyay) Rauckhorst, Lisa (Richard) Desrosiers; brother, Jerome (Cheri) Rauckhorst; as well as nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive family and friends on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home, KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTEZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main Street, Akron. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 612 E. Washington St., Medina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
