Richard "Rick" Louis McFarland

     Richard “Rick” Louis McFarland, age 68, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025 at his residence in Carroll.

     A public visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.

     A private graveside service will be held at the Carroll City Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for a later designation.

     Rick as he was known to most, was born on September 13, 1957 in Omaha, NE, and he was the son of Robert Sr. and Betty (Chizek) McFarland. He grew up and graduated from high school in Omaha. He was married and had three daughters: Rikki, Randi, Robi, and a son Jacob. After moving to Carroll, he worked at Griffith Ford, Farmland, and Farner-Bocken recently retiring on May 1, 2025. He was an avid fisherman and Nebraska Cornhuskers and Chicago Cubs fan.

     Rick is survived by his children and their families: Rikki Ullrich of Sheldon, Randi Nichols (Chad) of Carroll, Robi McFarland of Carroll, and Jacob McFarland of Orange City; four grandchildren: Blake Ullrich, Jaydrien Albers (Greg), Dylan McFarland, and Hazel Grace Nichols; a great-granddaughter Rylie Albers; a sister Susan McFarland Hayes (Todd) of Council Bluffs; and other extended family members.

     Rick was preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Betty McFarland; and a brother Robert McFarland Jr. and his wife Diane J.
