Richard "Dick" Riley, 86, passed away on September 10, 2025 at Mary Rutan Hospital. He was born on May 25, 1939, in Logan County, Ohio.
Dick was a man of many talents and skills, dedicating most of his life to a career as a carpenter. His experience spanned various trades including welding, roofing, and building. He spent many years at Corna Kokosing, now known as CK Construction.
Beyond his work, Dick was known for his fun-loving spirit and a personality that was both ornery and engaging. He had an incredible knack for storytelling, sharing good stories and memories that enriched the lives of those around him. His charm and wit made him a joy to be around, ensuring that laughter was never far away whenever he was present.
Dick had a deep passion for life, embracing hobbies that brought joy and fulfillment. He and his beloved wife, Maxine, shared a profound bond over their love for antiquing and visiting flea markets. Their shared adventures included many travels together, especially trips to Florida, and they cherished their 1986 Corvette, often taking it to car shows. After retiring, Dick enjoyed woodworking and leatherwork, making many belts and gun holsters.
The passing of Maxine earlier this year in February left a void in Dick's heart that could not be filled. It brings peace knowing they are together again.
Dick is survived by his loving friends Mike and Kirsten Reid, who embraced him as family over the last year, offering companionship and affection during a time of personal sorrow.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty, Ohio, 43357.
