On March 4th, 2024, Richard into eternal life at the age of 85. He was a devoted husband to wife Ruth Ann Rogahn for over 55 years, wonderful father to Kristin (Patrick) Rogahn-Dain and James Rogahn, and loving older brother to his sister, Ruth Anne Rogahn. He is survived by other friends and relatives who will feel the loss of his passing but rejoice in the peace of knowing he is in the arms of his Redeemer.
Richard spent his youth at Boys Trade and Technical High School in Milwaukee and subsequently obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A lifelong learner, he continued his education at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He spent many years employed as a Mechanical and Hydraulics Engineer for Pressed Steel Tank (West Allis), Custom Products (Oconomowoc), and Husco International where he designed valves for John Deere among many other important projects (Waukesha).
He enjoyed the precision and patient creativity of woodworking, always measuring twice and cutting once. He was an avid fan of the Packers and NASCAR, and loved watching BattleBots. He was skilled in the piano and accordion, could talk for hours about World War II, and never missed cracking a good pun.
He was a stable and abiding presence to all those around him. If you'd like to share in saying farewell, swapping stories, or telling a good joke, please join us at the following:
